Our Certificate II in Security Operations Training Course; includes an introduction to the private security industry, legal studies, ethical standards, performance management, team work, communication skills, risk management, incident management, reporting, security officer duties and responsibilities, crowd controller responsibilities, defensive techniques and first aid.

This program incorporates a combination of theory and practice through presentations, group discussions, role plays and self-paced learning


A Certificate II in Security Operations qualification and a Crowd Controller Statement of Attainment (partial Certificate III in Security Operations) will be awarded upon successful completion of this course.

Participants can then apply to the Office of Fair Trading for a Class 1 Security Providers Licence with the licence functions:

  • Security Officer (Unarmed)
  • Crowd Controller

A First Aid certification is also included in this course.

Entry Requirements

Must be 18 years or age or older and have had no criminal convictions in previous 10 years to be eligible for a Security Providers Licence. Note. Driving offences (e.g. speeding, drink driving, etc.) are not normally disqualifying offences.

Must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold an appropriate Visa to work in the Security Industry in Queensland.

Sufficient Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills to read and understand organisational policies and procedures, write reports and communicate with others in plain English. Participants may choose to undertake an LLN assessment with one of our qualified assessors prior to committing to their enrolment in this course if they are unsure of these requirements.
