Have you completed a Certificate II in Security Operations and are looking for a new challenge? The Certificate III in Security Operations qualification builds on the foundation knowledge and skills developed while undertaking the Certificate II qualification or while working in the security industry. It addresses subjects more comprehensively and suits individuals who are looking to work independently (without direct supervision), individuals who are seeking a rewarding career in the security industry and those who are aspiring security leaders and supervisors.
Asset Training Australia’s Certificate III in Security Operations addresses communication skills, workplace safety, organisational skills, workplace relationships, customer service and incident reporting. It also includes specialised training for Control Room Monitoring Operations, Bodyguarding and Cash-in-Transit.
A Certificate III in Security Operations qualification will be awarded upon successful completion of this course. Participants can then apply to the Office of Fair Trading to add Security Officer (Monitoring), Security Officer (Cash-in-Transit) and Bodyguardfunctions to their Class 1 Security Providers Licence. These licence functions will allow the participant to undertake the following job roles in addition to those already covered by their existing training/licence functions:
In order to undertake this course, participants must have completed a Certificate II in Security Operations or hold a current QLD Security Providers Licence.

Must be 18 years of age or older and have had no criminal convictions in previous 10 years to be eligible for a Security Providers Licence. Note. Driving offences (e.g. speeding, drink driving, etc.) are not normally disqualifying offences. Must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold an appropriate Visa to work in the Security Industry in Queensland.
Sufficient Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills to read and understand organisational policies and procedures, write reports and communicate with others in plain English. Participants may choose to undertake an LLN assessment with one of our qualified assessors prior to committing to their enrolment in this course if they are unsure of these requirements.
This qualification is based on the licensing requirements for a QLD Security Providers Licence.
