Refresher Training

Revalidation Training for Crowd Controllers and Bodyguards

Every 3 years, Crowd Controllers and Bodyguards are required to undertake 3 units of revalidation training. This includes:

  • CPPSEC3002A Manage Conflict through Negotiation

This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to use effective communication techniques to manage a conflict situation. It requires the ability to assess security risk situations, accurately receive, interpret and relay information, adapt communication styles and techniques to varying social and cultural environments, and evaluate responses.

  • CPPSEC3013A Control Persons using Empty Hand Techniques

This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to select and apply appropriate empty hand techniques. It requires the ability to use force in circumstances where there is a risk to safety of self and others. Competency also requires knowledge of the procedures for conducting an arrest.

  • HLTAID003 Provide First Aid

Refer to our First Aid course for information on this unit.

The Office of Fair Trading will notify Security Licence holders when the revalidation training needs to be completed; and which of the 3 unit(s) are required. This usually coincides with licence renewal dates however requirements may differ depending on individual circumstances.
